Call Capper with one deliberate shortcut.
Choose Caps Lock, Option–Space, Control–Space, or record a supported custom shortcut in onboarding or Settings.
Caps Lock
Capper can temporarily remap Caps Lock to an unused function key while it runs. The original behavior is restored during a normal Quit. Capper refuses to overwrite conflicting keyboard mappings.
Option–Space
This option does not remap a key. It is the safest fallback when another utility already owns Caps Lock.
Control–Space
Control–Space is another non-remapping built-in choice. If macOS or an input-source utility already uses it, choose Option–Space or record a different supported shortcut.
Custom shortcut
Record a function key or a supported modifier combination in Settings. Capper applies the new listener before reporting it as ready.
Secure Event Input
Password managers, terminals, and other security-sensitive apps can temporarily enable Secure Event Input. If the trigger cannot arrive, choose Show Command Panel from Capper’s menu-bar menu.
